Scholarships

Conference/Seminar Scholarship

RRVC offers scholarships to those who are interested in attending a conference, seminar, or workshop related to native plants in the landscape for which a fee is required.

Scholarship Award Consideration

1. Chapter board members and coordinators
2. Chapter volunteers
3. Chapter general members if no applications are received from the above categories

Scholarship Criteria

1. Each scholarship is valued up to $50.00
2. Three scholarships are given each year (not counting President’s allotment for annual Conference)
3. One scholarship is given per recipient each year
4. Once a scholarship is given, consideration for that recipient will fall to the same level as the general membership for the next two years. In other words, if a board member/volunteer requests and receives a scholarship, that person will not be favored above the general membership for the next two years. After three years following the receipt of the scholarship that individual will again be considered above a request from the general membership. The date of the scholarship request will be considered when awarding the scholarship.
5. One award per event
6. Board/Chairs should consider it an OBLIGATION OF LEADERSHIP to further their knowledge of our very interesting field.
7. Scholarship recipients will write a short synopsis of their experience shortly after the event to be published in the chapter newsletter.
